PACK CAMPING TRIP
Pack 150 holds a pack-wide camp out at the Gamber & Community Fire Company every October. I think we hold it at the Fire Company because some of the den leaders aren't so good with the camp fire... :-)
2021 Pack Camping Trip
The 2021 camping trip was jammed with activities! Since we weren't able to have rocket day over the summer, we rolled it into the camping trip. Since the camping trip was later in the month, we also held our Pack Meeting that evening and included the pumpkin carving contest (tradition for our October Pack Meeting). There was some rain mid afternoon but our Cub Scouts came prepared and Saturday was a "blast!" Pizza has been standard for Saturday evening dinner but some folks came equipped with a charcoal grill. Perhaps an idea for future camping trips? Families subsist on whatever they can whip up over a grill or camping stove? Or perhaps we have some brave families volunteer to demonstrate their grilling skills for the entire pack? During the Pack Meeting we welcomed some new families to Pack 150 and had volunteers tell "ghost stories." Some of them were quite interesting...
2020 Pack Camping Trip
In a new world of social distancing, six foot space bubbles, and folks looking like bank robbers or surgeons, we're grateful we were able to hold the annual camping trip on Saturday, October 17. The afternoon was still filled with games and activities such as knot tying and den adventures, and dinner was followed by a camp fire, songs, skits and smores. We did attempt to make meal time safer and reduce food handling by ordering pizza. I think everyone that could make it would agree it was still a blast!
2019 Pack Camping Trip
Saturday afternoon is filled with games and activities, then ends with grilled hot dogs and hamburgers (thanks Greg!). After dinner is a camp fire, songs, skits and smores. This year there was also a special experiment - see below for details!
