Soldier's Delight
Pack 150 has led several hikes at Soldier's Delight near Liberty Reservoir. A trail map is found here. One unique fact about the area is that it was mined for chromium for some number of years. Mine shafts and evidence of mining can be found in the area and the nearby nature center periodically hosts group tours and presentations.

Patapsco Valley State Park McKeldin
This is another fantastic hiking area just south of Liberty Reservoir. A full trail map can be found here. The hike features some beautiful scenery and really great views of some rapids on the Patapsco. There are some picnic areas if you want to plan ahead and bring a lunch. There's a park entrance off of Marriottsville Road - using 11676 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, on your GPS will get you there! |
