WEBELOS DEN 13
WEBELOS UNIFORM
WEBELOS stands for "We Be Loyal Scouts," and Webelos have advanced far enough in Cub Scouts to be rewarded with attire they can carry into the Boy Scouts. That was a really nice way of saying you have to buy your Scout a new uniform this year. Chances are they can't fit in the old one anyway, so this is a good thing. Buy it a little large because they can use this uniform if they bridge into the Boy Scouts (2nd half of fifth grade and into sixth grade). I also advise that patches be sewn on - most Cub Scout patches are removed for the Boy Scouts and glue spots don't always come out.
The Webelos uniform is shown to the right. You need to purchase the khaki shirt, blue shoulder loops, U.S. flag emblem (if not already on the shirt), Den 6 under the flag, Webelos colors strip (Webelos adventure pins attach to this) and the world crest emblem. You will also have to get the Baltimore Council shoulder insignia and Pack 150 unit numerals for the right shoulder (or pry them off the old uniform). As always, the pack will provide the hat, neckerchief and slide. The blue Cub Scout belt with adventure loops can be used on the new uniform. Pants need to be green/olive drab but, as with previous ranks, purchasing BSA pants is not mandatory for Pack 150. On line purchases can be made from the BSA at this link.
